Bella Union opens today in Brighton with a smart Andy Doig neon.
The Bella Union Vinyl Shop officially opened in Brighton’s Lanes today.
Indie label Bella Union Records has unveiled its Vinyl Shop in the historic quarter of Brighton’s Lanes. The shop will focus on stock from the label catalogue, which includes items by Father John Misty, John Grant, Explosions In The Sky, Beach House and more.
Passing through the door is to step into an 80s record shop – Talking Heads adverts are suspend above Blondie posters. Vinyl revolves on a turntable resting on the shop counter. Wild.
To launch the shop Bella Union artists performed, namely Fiona Brice and Jamie Lee from Money, Mercury Rev also appeared.
Turquoise neon by Andy Doig, obviously. The turquoise tubing is timeless and you can’t walk past the shop without it catching your eye.
Fun fact: Andy also made the iconic neon Skint Records sign for Norman Cook that appeared on the cover of On the floor at The Boutique back in the 90s.
Bella Union Vinyl Shop is located at 13 Ship Street Gardens.
